Many tourist visit to Kyoto because guidebooks recommend to visit there.
Of course, there are a lot of shrines/temples in Kyoto, but do you know that the biggest Buddah in Japan is in Nara ?
The biggest Buddah is in Todaiji (Todai temple), Nara prefecture since Nara era started in 710. It is about 1300 years ago!
History of Nara era is older than Kyoto but it is not well known.
A lot of ceremonies will be held at Nara next year.
It takes about 30 min from Osaka or Kyoto.
Why don’t you visit Nara in 2010!?
